Is the story of the dinosaurs of the Jurassic era very different from what we are told? If we look at a research done by Chinese researchers, we will be able to get the exact answer to this question in the same way as it was found in the movie Jurassic Park. It has been claimed that a prehistoric tapeworm is partially intact inside a sample of 10 million years old amber. Mid-Cretaceous Kachin amber was discovered in Myanmar. Tapeworms discovered in the research may have DNA of dinosaurs and other creatures stuck to them, which can tell the true story of the Jurassic era.
According to scientists at the Nanjing Institute of Geology and Paleontology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the discovery of a tapeworm from this era is extremely rare, and may contain traces of the DNA of its prehistoric host. The length of tapeworms ranges from less than one millimeter to more than 30 meters. They can infect humans and animals and live in almost all types of environments.
The discovery is truly fascinating and is reminiscent of the beginning of the sci-fi movie Jurassic Park, in which scientists used prehistoric mosquito remains to extract DNA from extinct creatures from a time when dinosaurs ruled the Earth. According to Luo Sihang, first author of the study, “The current discovery is the most reliable body fossil of a platyhelminth ever found.”

According to research, the tapeworm might have stuck to the intestine of an animal from the early Cretaceous period. The Cretaceous is commonly known as the last part of the “Age of Dinosaurs”. This could mean that the tapeworm could carry DNA samples from a variety of dinosaurs, including the large, meat-eating Deinonychus, the horned Carnotaurus, or a giant Carcharodontosaurus, which boasted a skull larger than that of Tyrannosaurus rex.
The study highlights that amber was deposited in amber on the shore, indicating that it may have been inhabited by a marine dinosaur. According to one theory, the animal may have become trapped on the ground and died, causing the tapeworm to detach from its intestine and move out of the body into the sticky amber.

According to another theory, the marine creature that contained the tapeworm might have been eaten by land-roaming dinosaurs. As its host was being eaten, the tapeworm would make its way out and become trapped in the amber.
